For this week’s HTC One ROM of the Week, check out the latest ViperOne ROM for HTC One, available for both original HTC One M7 and the new HTC One M8. Based on latest HTC Sense 6.0 Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware, ViperOne brings you a new Sense experience where customization is the norm and you will be able to enjoy many 3rd-party rooted apps easily. ViperOne ROM comes with its own Venom Tweaks app that allows you to fully customize your HTC One in many ways. Although the number of customization is too many to list here let me point out some of my favorites.
For this week’s HTC One ROM of the week, check out MIUI ROM, available for any GSM-based HTC One (AT&T, T-Mobile, Unlocked, International) and Sprint. Based on Android 4.2.2 Sense firmware, MIUI ROM brings you all the goodness of MIUI UI, a load of free themes to choose from all the while keeping your core Sense features like Sense camera, TV Remote app, and much more. Now keep in mind development on MIUI ROM is a bit slower (as they are trying to support multiple devices) so KitKat will be here eventually, just not yet.

Based on latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat, AICP (Android Ice Cold Project) ROM is a solid performer that gives custom ROMers a tons of customization and options with Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Currently only available for GSM HTC One (such as AT&T, T-Mobile, International, or Unlocked), AICP ROM gives you full AOKP ROM Control, OmniSwitch, Halo Floating notifications, Animation Control, Active Display, Gesture Anywhere, Connection Manager, Tile Color Manager, and much more.
For this week’s ROM of the week, check out CM11 with latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat for your HTC One, available for all variants including GSM international/unlocked/AT&T/T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon. I’ve been trying many other AOSP ROMs in the last week or so but haven’t found one that gives you as much stability (with everything working out of the box) so I kept going back to CM11, which has already passed its M3 milestone (meaning it’s stable), and highly recommended for those of you who want to experience custom ROMs without bugs (or minimal).
HTC has pushed out official Android 4.4 KitKat Sense 5.5 update to unlocked and international versions of HTC One couple days ago. For AT&T and T-Mobile users, if you are not rooted, you will probably have to wait another month or two. For this week’s HTC One ROM of the week, check out the latest Google Play Edition ROM with latest Android 4.4 KitKat KRT16S and root. This ROM is available currently for AT&T, T-Mobile, International, and Unlocked HTC One. To install this ROM, you will need S-OFF to install the new radios. For those of you who want to install GPE(Google Play Edition) ROMs on your HTC One, you will have to upgrade your radio. To upgrade the radio, you must have S-OFF. (Or you probably could unroot with GPE stock ROM and do OTA also.) So, here’s how to do it. First, we will be using RumRunner S-Off, which works on many different devices like HTC One X/XL, HTC One Max, HTC One Mini, HTC One S, HTC Evo 4G LTE, HTC First, HTC Butterfly, and HTC Butterfly S. RumRummer works on all AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, International, and Unlocked phones.

Finally, multi-window usually only available on Samsung Galaxy devices can also be done on the HTC One. How? By installing Omni ROM you will be able to get full multi-window working. It’s not identical to the Samsung version but certainly it can let you do some true multi-tasking.
